In-Person Adult Art Course – Structure & Content
Primarily Nina’s in-person art classes for adults are practical, informative and are tailored to meet individual goals and abilities. No projects are repeated so students can attend each term knowing there will always be fresh ideas and inspiration. Catering for all levels of ability from beginners, intermediate, advance and masterclass students.
Venue: Courses are held at the Geraldine Hall in Maynooth Co. Kildare, which run for 4 – 6 weeks throughout the year from September to June. A single class can be booked if availability permits.
Beginner / Intermediate Course
The pace of this course is designed for building confidence & enjoyment giving students time to explore their creative ability. Basic drawing, composition, colour mixing and painting techniques are covered as the course develops. Courses look at all stages of working a piece – from the initial concept to the finished work.
Homework is given for students who wish to push themselves to do a little more at home after class. Fee includes materials each week in Nina’s choice of medium, use of equipment , protective wear and complimentary tea / coffee.
Each week Nina will focus on a particular medium giving a step by step demonstration where students are invited to paint along. Varying styles and disciplines week by week to include a taste of working in – oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, charcoal, pen, ink and pencils. Subject matter is also varied and may include still life, interiors, scenery, animals, people and street scenes etc.
Intermediate / Advanced Course
Though the pace of this course is moderately fast moving it is designed for enjoyment and relaxation giving students time to explore their creative ability. Courses look at all stages of working a piece – from the initial concept to the finished work.
Each week Nina will focus on a particular medium giving a step by step demonstration. Disciplines and styles are varied week by week to encourage students to find & develop their own way of working, to include – oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, charcoal, pen, ink and pencils. Subject matter may include still life, interiors, scenery, animals, people and street scenes etc.. As the course progresses drawing, composition, colour mixing and painting techniques are incorporated.
Homework is given for students who wish to push themselves to do a little more at home.

More advanced students may opt to work on their own choice of work USING THEIR OWN MATERIALS. Nina guides and advises students as they embark on creating their own pieces.
