‘Paint Along with Nina’ or  ‘Focus On Your Own Work’

In Person 1/2 Day Workshop Structure & Content
Join Me For A Morning or Afternoon Painting Workshop. These relaxed but intensive ½ Day Workshops, take place monthly, at the Geraldine Hall in Maynooth. Catering for all levels of ability from beginner, intermediate, advanced and masterclass students. Students choose whether to, ‘Paint Along with Nina’ or, ‘Focus On Their Own Work’.

Paint Along With Nina

 The pace of this course is designed for building confidence & enjoyment giving students time to explore their creative ability. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners through to advanced students.  Students can choose to work in a  particular medium (oil / acrylic / watercolour / pastel, charcoal, pen, ink, pencil) with a particular theme (still life, interiors, scenery, animals, people and street scenes) or follow Nina and be guided through painting a piece, step by step from start to finish.

What’s The Plan for The Day?

Nina will give a step by step demonstration working a piece from start to finish. Basic drawing, composition, colour mixing and painting techniques are covered as the workshop develops. Students are invited to paint along with Nina to complete their own piece by the end of the day.

Focus On Your Own Work

Primarily these workshops are for intermediate / advanced / masterclass students who wish to, ‘Focus‘ on their own work, working from their own research materials. Students set their own pace. Starting a new piece or bringing along work in progress or both as they wish. Students work in their preferred medium.

What’s The Plan for The Day?

Nina gives in depth advice on all stages of working a piece. From choosing a subject / medium, building a composition / looking at focal points, perspective, choosing colours / colour balance, texture / tonal recession, painting techniques / using materials, finishes etc.

So, What Will I Need?

Students may wish to wear old clothes & bring a camera or phone.

What’s Included?

All materials are supplied to complete a piece in oil / watercolour / acrylic – paints, canvas boards / paper, palettes, brushes etc. As well as easels, disposable aprons, palette knives, water tubs, cloths etc. Tea / coffee / refreshments are all included in the fee.

More advanced students are invited to bring along their own painting kit – paints, canvas / paper, palettes, brushes etc if they wish to do so.
